The Toadies perform final shows

Reported by yewknee

According to the Dallas Observer, Interscope Records The Toadies have broken up. Word was delivered to the paper by singer-guitarist Todd Lewis, citing that bassist Lisa Umbarger had decided to leave the band during their last tour. Lewis said that without Umbarger in the band he wouldn't feel right carrying on with the group, as they have always been the two core members. The bnd will perform a handful of farewell dates around Texas including a show on Sept. 29th at the Bronco Bowl with Mark Hughes filling in on bass. Lisa Umbarger is reportedly going to find some sort of normality in life, "do boring, real-people stuff" says Lewis. Guitarist Clark Vogeler plans to attend film school in LA, while drummer Mark Reznicek isn't sure about his plans. Todd Lewis, however, says that "it's just in my blood to do music" and says that he has a project he's been working on before the breakup and he's going to pursue that.
