The Mars Volta are set to release their fifth album, Octahedron, on June 23rd. The first single will be "Since We've Been Wrong." This incarnation of the band includes Marcel Rodriguez Lopez, Thomas Pridgen, John Frusciante, Isaiah Ikey Owens, Juan Alderete de la Pena, Cedric Bixler Zavala and Omar Rodriguez Lopez. Jerry Cantrell revealed to Altitude that the reformed Alice In Chains, with singer William DuVall, finished recording their new album in March. The record is now being mixed and Cantrell revealed they're shooting for a September release. The sound is reportedly "everything from the darkest of dark, heavy shit to acoustic stuff."
