Mastodon Teams Up with Brendan O'Brien

According to a news post on their website, Mastodon has joined producer Brendan O'Brien in the studio to begin work on a new album. This will be the first full-length not recorded with Matt Bayles. Although, Bayles and O'Brien worked together on Pearl Jam's Yield.

Wolf Parade At Mount Zoomer

Wolf Parade has christened its sophomore album with a title: At Mount Zoomer. The album was named after the band's studio, because the first candidate, "Kissing The Beehive," turned out to be a book title. A supporting summer tour has been set.

Conor Oberst, Alone Again

While some would rather just have another Desaparecidos record, it seems Conor Oberst has instead moved in the opposite direction. Oberst will release a self-titled, solo album through Merge on August 5th. The album was recorded in Mexico with Andy LeMaster and a group of musicians known as the Mystic Valley Band. Oberst and said band have four Fall shows already set.

Weezer Firms Up Album Details

Earlier this month, we reported on the new self-titled Weezer album (aka The Red Album). The release date has now been set for June 3rd and two editions will be available—a regular edition with 10 songs and a deluxe edition with an additional four.
