According to a news post on their website, Mastodon has joined producer Brendan O'Brien in the studio to begin work on a new album. This will be the first full-length not recorded with Matt Bayles. Although, Bayles and O'Brien worked together on Pearl Jam's Yield.
Sigur Rós has posted a new song, "Gobbledigook," on their official website. The track is available as both a video and free MP3 download. Said track will be included on their forthcoming album.
He Is Legend has posted four new demos, presumably set for a forthcoming album, on MySpace. The sound is more reminiscent of I Am Hollywood, which is sure to please most fans.

Warp Records has signed their first Aussie band, Pivot. The group will release the "In The Blood" single on May 19th (UK). You can download a track from said EP on the band's website.
While some would rather just have another Desaparecidos record, it seems Conor Oberst has instead moved in the opposite direction. Oberst will release a self-titled, solo album through Merge on August 5th. The album was recorded in Mexico with Andy LeMaster and a group of musicians known as the Mystic Valley Band. Oberst and said band have four Fall shows already set.
Earlier this month, we reported on the new self-titled Weezer album (aka The Red Album). The release date has now been set for June 3rd and two editions will be available—a regular edition with 10 songs and a deluxe edition with an additional four.
