Kill Rock Stars will release a solo record from Colin Meloy, titled Colin Meloy Sings Live!, on April 8th. The 14-track album was recorded during Meloy's two-week solo tour in 2006.
Looks like all the random MySpace clips and studio news was actually leading somewhere as Portishead will release their third album, aptly titled Third, on April 29th through Mercury/Island.
South will return with You Are Here on April 15th through Young American. The group will premiere the new material at SXSW, but you can preview two new tracks at Bluhammock.
If you don't have an account on Last.fm, one of the largest social music sites, you'll probably want to go get one now. The fine folks who run the site have today announced a deal with EMI, Sony BMG, Universal, Warner and thousands of independent labels to offer free, full-length previews of any track on the site. Minneapolis' Tapes 'n Tapes have completed their sophomore album, titled Walk It Off. The record will be released on April 8th through XL. Currently, the band is planning a Spring tour, but the group will be all over SXSW in March.
Even with White Chalk still fresh in our minds, PJ Harvey has already started making plans to record another album with John Parish. The two may enter the studio later this month to begin work on a follow-up to 1996's Dance Hall At Louse Point.
As you may have heard, Nada Surf will release a new album, Lucky, on February 5th. "Show These Bones" from said album is now available as a free download from MySpace. They've also just announced a Spring tour in support of the record.

Warp has assured fans a new Jamie Lidell album is the "pipeline" for 2008. They've posted a video of Lidell with full band working a new song to YouTube as proof.

Tricky is reportedly set to return in April with a full-length titled Knowle West Boy. The album will be released on Tricky's own Brown Punk label.
