Matmos Paint Sound Portraits

That upcoming Matmos album now has a title, The Rose Has Teeth In The Mouth Of A Beast, and confirmed a release date, May 9th. According to Matador, the album "contains aural and video portraits" of various figures throughout history. Nab an MP3 of "Roses & Teeth for Ludwig Wittgenstein" in the Downloads. More Peeping Tom Details

Ipecac recently spewed forth additional details regarding the long-awaited Peeping Tom project from Mike Patton. As you know, the album will be released May 30th. Now, we've learned the album sports appearances from the likes of Massive Attack, Norah Jones, Kid Koala, Bibel Gilberto, Amon Tobin, Kool Keith, Rahzel and Dan The Automator, among others. In case you want to pin the names to the songs, Ipecac also provided the tracklist (and here's the cover art, too).

Road Rage Tour 2006--Blondie and The New Cars

Kudzu grows approximately a foot a day

Overcoming ongoing rumors that they were gone for good it appears that The Vines will be returning on April 4th with Vision Valley. Rock antics may be at an all time low for the band now that frontman Craig Nichols has been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome - a disease that can lead to autistic like behavior. Vagrant Records picks up The Hold Steady

According to the Vagrant website, The Hold Steady has joined the label's lineup of, well, bands that really aren't anything like their new acquisition. Still, it shows how well-received last year's Separation Sunday was and they'll be headed to the studio sometime in May to work on their third LP.

Nacho Libre brings talent together

The forthcoming movie Nacho Libre features Jack Black as a munk moonlighting as a luchador (Mexican wrestler) to help save the children in his orphanage. The film is directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) and written by Mike White (School of Rock). Aside from the trailer being just about everything you want it to be it should also be noted that Beck will be contributing new original songs for the soundtrack. We'll keep you filled in on details as they arise but in the meantime you can entertain yourself with this confession trailer for an upcoming series of videos giving a behind the scenes look at the film.
