According to comments from drummer David Lovering to the Spinner, Pixies will "make something new" following their current tour. The band has been flirting with making a new album for years, but the band hopes to "bury the hatchet." U2's Bono already urged the band to make a new record. According to a Spinner interview with bassist Scott Devendorf, The National will contribute a track to a forthcoming Grateful Dead covers album (also to be a follow-up to the Dark Was The Night compilation).
