The collaboration between Iron & Wine and Calexico that we told you about has a few more details on it now. The disc will be entitled In The Reins and will be released Sept. 20th via Overcoat Recordings.
Pennywise are set to return August 9th with their latest abum, The Fuse, which will be preceeded by the first single “Disconnect”. Meanwhile the band is launching a two-week European tour before heading back to the US for more dates.
Stretch Arm Strong will be embarking on a co-headlining tour with Haste The Day beginning July 26th. The tour, dubbed The Summer Free Fall Tour, is in support of Strech Arm Strong's new release, Free At Last, out September 13th. Still Remains will be direct support with Kane Hodder opening up each night.
While the Dropkick Murphys geared up to hit the road on this summer’s Vans Warped Tour, the band took the time on June 8th to celebrate the release of their new album The Warrior's Code (out yesterday on Hellcat) with an album listening party and video premiere atop Fenway Park’s right field roof. Warp Records' singer, producer and beatboxer, Jamie Lidell, released his new album, Multiply, on June 13th. However, we American citizens will have to wait until June 28th for the album to hit US shelves. For those unfamiliar, Lidell's sound is "a twisted electronic soul... that has the power and emotion of vintage Marvin Gaye or Stevie Wonder." Obviously, it's more than just straightforward soul. The new Supergrass album is entitled Road to Rouen and will be released internationally August 15th. When will we see a domestic release? No idea but we'll let you know as soon as we find out.
Aside from losing founding member and guitarist Derek Miller as well as parting ways with bassist Mike Gordill in the past months, Poison The Well have been hard at work on their follow-up to You Come Before You. The guys once again teamed up with Pelle Henricsson and Eskil Lovstrom (Refused) and recorded 12 new songs (11 album tracks, 1 cover) across several studios in Sweden. According to their official website, they are back in the studio this month laying on finishing touches. Fans can catch a preview of the new material during the band's set on the Sounds of the Underground tour running June 25th-July 31st. We're a little behind on this, but we figured we'd still let you know the sisters Casaday, CocoRosie, will release the follow-up to La Maison de Mon Reve on September 13th. Titled Noah's Ark, the new album contains 12 new gems. You can view the unicorn-humping artwork over at the Touch & Go website.
Xiu Xiu has announced more North American dates from June until September in support of the upcoming La Foret, due July 12th. Also, be on the looking for a split 7" with Devendra Banhart (though details are still shaky at best).
