Illinois comes early

Starting this Friday, May 20th, you will be able to pre-order the new Sufjan Stevens album Come On, Feel The Illinoise, and orders will begin shipping June 2nd. This means you can get the album a full month prior to its original intended release. Check the Asthmatic Kitty site on Friday for where to put your money.

Ken Andrews is off his rocker or a music genius

Ken Andrews (ex-Failure) has announced that he is working on another solo album (though not necessarily an ON album) but more importantly has started a new project called Los Angeles Digital Noise Academy. The new group seems to be an "all-star" collaboration of sorts...see the more for specific members involved.

Ween collection ready in a few months

An upcoming Ween collection of rarities, b-sides, and outtakes has been compiled under the name Shinola and should be released on the Chocodog label sometime in the next few months. No specifics on tracks just yet, but we're really hoping the abandoned Pizza Hut jingle "Where'd The Cheese Go?" is included.

The New Transplants

The Transplants video for "Gangsters and Thugs" has been added to their MySpace page. The Transplants are: Travis Barker - drums (Blink 182), Tim Armstrong - guitar (Rancid), and Rob Aston - vocals. Their new album, Haunted Cities, arrives June 21st.

Slightly befuddling band names tour together

We told you that Kaiser Chiefs were on tour but we failed to mention that OK Go! would be the supporting act (and playing some offshoot dates of their own). OK Go! is expected to release their sophomore effort in July. More details as they arise.
