On July 12th Son Volt will release their first album in 7 years Okemah and the Melody of Riot. You can check out their first single "Bandages & Scars" now on their official site.

Starting this Friday, May 20th, you will be able to pre-order the new Sufjan Stevens album Come On, Feel The Illinoise, and orders will begin shipping June 2nd. Ken Andrews (ex-Failure) has announced that he is working on another solo album (though not necessarily an ON album) but more importantly has started a new project called Los Angeles Digital Noise Academy. The new group seems to be an "all-star" collaboration of sorts...see the more for specific members involved.

An upcoming Ween collection of rarities, b-sides, and outtakes has been compiled under the name Shinola and should be released on the Chocodog label sometime in the next few months. No specifics on tracks just yet, but we're really hoping the abandoned Pizza Hut jingle "Where'd The Cheese Go?" is included.

Engine Down is finishing up a European tour, and we just got word that they will be doing a full US tour at the end of the summer with des_ark and Maura's (ex-Denali) new band, Bellalea.

The Transplants video for "Gangsters and Thugs" has been added to their MySpace page. The Transplants are: Travis Barker - drums (Blink 182), Tim Armstrong - guitar (Rancid), and Rob Aston - vocals. Their new album, Haunted Cities, arrives June 21st.

Good news, the Shout Out Louds are bringing their Sweedish rock to America. Their album Howl Howl, Gaff Gaff will be released in the US next week 5/24, and the band has a bunch of tour dates below.

The press releases from Regurgitator's record label always confuse me and amaze me at the same time, so I will just post it below. The gist is the band has released a single for "My Ego," which features lots of cool remixes, and they will be heading to Darwin for a one-off show.

We told you that Kaiser Chiefs were on tour but we failed to mention that OK Go! would be the supporting act (and playing some offshoot dates of their own). OK Go! is expected to release their sophomore effort in July. More details as they arise.
