Torche Working on New Album, Adds Second Guitarist

Torche are currently in the process of writing a new album. According to the band, they "should have [the] entire record written" by February and will begin pre-production. As well, Andrew Elstner (Tilts) is joining Torche full-time. Drummer Rick Smith reported that fans should expect "lots of heavy shit!" [www.torchemusic.com]

MF Doom Operation: Doomsday Deluxe Reissue

MF Doom will reissue the first complete version of his debut album, Opertaion: Doomsday, this spring through his own Metalface Records. The set will include the "original album, alternate versions, b-sides and instrumentals - 51 tracks total - with all new artwork and two deluxe, metal formats." Beats, Rhymes and Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest

Actor/director Michael Rapaport will premiere his documentary film about A Tribe Called Quest, titled Beats, Rhymes and Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest, at the Sundance Film Festival (which kicks off today). The director talked to "Pharrell, ?uestlove and Black Thought from the Roots, obviously Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Mos Def, Monie Love, the Jungle Brothers, Too Short, Ludacris" and "a bunch of people" for the film. Bjork Halfway Through with New Album
