Definitive Jux Goes On Hiatus

Last week, the rap label Definitive Jux announced it would be going on hiatus, after a decade of operation. Founder El-P is "stepping away from [his] duties as artistic director" to focus on producing and his own music. Citizen Cope Readies The Rainwater LP

Citizen Cope will release The Rainwater LP on March 2nd (digitally on February 9th) through his own RainWater Recordings, Inc. label. The self-produced album features "a laidback gumbo of acoustic blues, singer/songwriter rock 'n' roll and deep soul grooves." On March 9th, Gonjasufi will debut A Sufi & A Killer via Warp Records. The rapper's album, produced by Flying Lotus, "embraces aged Eastern influences, reanimated hip-hop and vintage psychedelia - laced with Gonjasufi's cryptic lyrics and captivating vocal delivery." Together from The New Pornographers

The New Pornographers will release their fifth full-length, Together, on May 4th through Matador Records. According to the label, "the album is comprised of 9 A.C. Newman songs and 3 Dan Bejar numbers, and features the full eight-person lineup." Annie Clark of St. Vincent, Zach Condon of Beirut and Will Sheff of Okkervil River guest on the album. Dropkick Murphys Ready Live on Lansdowne

Dropkick Murphys will release the CD/DVD Live on Lansdowne, Boston MA on March 16th through Born & Bred Records. Broken Social Scene Album Due in May

According to Arts & Crafts, Broken Social Scene will release their fourth full-length on May 4th. The album was produced by John McEntire (Tortoise) in Chicago and Toronto. AC4 Issue Full-Length, US Release Coming

AC4 was formed by Dennis Lyxzén and David Sandström of Refused in the summer of 2008. Late last year, the old-school hardcore outfit released their debut album on Ny Våg. Rx Bandits Spring US Tour
