Noise Addict Resurrected

Ben Lee has resurrected Noise Addict, formed by Lee in 1992. The group, featuring Lou Barlow and Lara Meyerratken, posted a new album, It Was Never About The Audience, on Bandcamp for download. Keeping true to the band's origins, "everything [was] recorded quickly, in [Lee's] bedroom, with lots of stupid arbitrary rules like no mic-stands." [noiseaddict.net]

Puscifer Fall Tour Dates

Matthew Herbert Planning Three New Albums

Avant-garde, electronic madman Matthew Herbert will descend on Robert-Johnson in Frankfurt, Germany later this month. Microphones will be placed all over the club for two hours and guests are invited to make noises. The recordings will then be turned into a full-length, titled One Club. Herbert is also working on a "low-key collection of songs" called One One and a record about the life of a pig, aptly titled One Pig. More details can be found at Herbert's website. Thom Yorke Prepping Two Vinyl Releases

According to Exclaim, Thom Yorke will release a limited-edition 12" vinyl record with the unreleased tracks "Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses" and "The Hollow Earth" on September 22nd via TBD. This follows the news of Yorke prepping a 7" release of his Mark Mulcahy cover “All for the Best.” You can watch a 2005 performance of "Horses" on YouTube. [exclaim.ca]

DJ AM Found Dead Friday

DJ AM (aka Adam Goldstein) was found dead in his New York City apartment on Friday evening. According to a press release, "the circumstances surrounding his death are unclear," but the N.Y.P.D. Deputy Commissioner reported there is "no apparent evidence of foul play." [www.mtv.com]

Foo Fighters Greatest Hits in November

It's time for a victory lap: the Foo Fighters will a release 15-year retrospective greatest hits album, aptly titled Foo Fighters Greatest Hits, on November 3rd via RCA. Charlotte Gainsbourg, Beck Ready IRM

Back in November, Beck reportedly began work on a new album for French actress and singer-songwriter Charlotte Gainsbourg. Now, it appears that album, IRM, will be released in January 2010 through Because. According to Pitcfork, Hansen wrote "all of the record's music, he co-wrote the lyrics, produced, and mixed the thing." [pitchfork.com]
