Don't expect a new album from The White Stripes until next year. Jack White recently told MusicRadar that they've "recorded a couple of songs at the new studio," but that an album won't be released until "maybe next year." Also, White is busy at the moment. [www.musicradar.com]
The Germs have reunited and will tour the US this summer. Actor Shane West, who played Darby Crash in 2007's What We Do Is Secret, will front the band. This lineup performed previously at the Warped Tour 2006 and a few clubs in 2007. [www.livedaily.com]

According to Pitchfork, Karin Dreijer Andersson is set to tour North America this September and October in support of Fever Ray. According to Mic to Mic, fans who ordered the Beastie Boys Check Your Head collector's vinyl received a bonus 7" with two unreleased songs, "Lee Majors Come Again" and "B Boys In The Cut." Spoon are set to debut new material at SPOONX3 on July 9-11th at Stubb's in Austin, TX. Britt Daniel told Billboard the band would be "finishing up [the] album by this summer." According to Pitchfork, James Mercer has parted ways with Marty Crandall and Jesse Sandoval. The Shins now include "Ron Lewis from Grand Archives and Fruit Bats on bass and Joe Plummer of Modest Mouse on drums."
