John Frusciante Joins, Quits Swahili Blonde
John Frusciante was apparently, at one time a member of experimental punk-funk outfit Swahili Blonde. He played on every track of the band's new album, Man Meat, which is officially released as of today. Unfortunately, he's since quit the band and doing who knows what. According to Rolling Stone, Al Jardine thinks The Beach Boys will perform "at least one [reunion] show" for the group's 50th anniversary next year. Jardine reported Brian Wilson will indeed be a part of the festivities, but Wilson's manager is "unfamiliar with reunion plans." We shall see who's right. rollingstone.com
Swans Revivified, Album and Tour Coming
Michael Gira has decided to "[revivify] the idea of" Swans in order to move in a "new direction" musically. The new group is a mishmash of original, former and new members, but "is not a reunion."
