Hotpipes - Hotpipes

Using the term "roller coaster" would be a completely, shamefully, unimaginative way to describe the up's an down's that these songs carry the listener through but it would be an appropriate one. Maybe a better way to describe it would be "driving on the interstate with extremely low visibility but a serious penchant for putting the pedal to the metal." But that's not really a term--although the anticipation of that next turn helps capture the feeling of the band's energy. Describing the Hotpipes self-titled album is a difficult task given how they manage to capture a myriad of sounds from indie pop to psychedelic freak-outss to soulful wails to a pure cacophony of rock force...often within the span of the same song.
