Deluxe Odelay in the wings

Smashing Pumpkins ready American Gothic EP

Smashing Pumpkins will release an acoustic EP, American Gothic, digitally through iTunes on January 2nd. The four new tracks, which Corgan calls "Zeitgeist plus," were recorded in LA last year.

Ladytron Recording Album, Due in May

Ladytron will release the follow-up to Witching Hour in May 2008 through Nettwerk. With Ladytron's original label, Emperor Norton, absorbed into Rykodisc, the group was happy to part ways. The quartet is currently in Paris recording with Vicarious Bliss.

Pierce the Empire With A Sound

Nathan Burke will release the sophomore album from The Out Circuit, Pierce the Empire With A Sound, through Lujo on February 12th. Said album features appearances by members of Thrice, Beauty Pill and The Epochs, among others. The record is currently for sale on the Lujo site. Listen to four tracks from the album on Virb.

Phantom Planet go independent

Instead of opting for another major label release it seems that Phantom Planet have now signed to independent label Fueled By Ramen. The band plans to release their next full-length album with them in the spring of 2008 but, in the meantime, you can hit their MySpace page and check out the new track "Leader."

Allegedly consisting of some (or all) of the members of Green Day, a group by the name of Foxboro Hot Tubs has emerged on MySpace. What's more, you can download their 6-song, Stop Drop and Roll EP for free at the band's website. Sounds like Billie Joe and crew, but you be the judge.
