Today will see the release of The Best of the Johnny Cash TV Show on DVD, a collection of the show's musical performances; the Man in Black's series ran from 1969-1971. Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Stevie Wonder are among the performers, and of course Johnny Cash himself makes plenty of appearances.

Thrice have announced more dates in support of their forthcoming release, The Alchemy Index: Vols. I & II - Fire & Water, on October 16th through Vagrant. These new shows expand the previously announced Brand New and mewithoutYou jaunt. In related news, "Firebreather" and "Digital Sea" from Alchemy have been posted to MySpace.

Final Fantasy Fall Tour

Owen Pallett, the one-man Final Fantasy, will kickoff a headlining tour in support of his latest release, He Poos Clouds, on September 21st. The North American stint will feature Basia Bulat as support in Canada and co-headlining dates with Cadence Weapon in the US.

Vampire Weekend is making waves across the interweb, after signing to XL Recordings. "Mansard Roof" will get the single treatment on October 23rd, but a proper full-length won't be released until January 2008. As with most bands, their MySpace page is the easiest place to preview some songs.

The Stills Sign to Arts & Crafts

The Stills are bringing it all home to Canada and have inked a worldwide deal with Arts & Crafts. To commemorate the event, the band will play two dates at Lee's Palace in Toronto on November 23rd and 24th. A Without Feathers follow-up is expected in Spring 2008.

Nicole Atkins Readies Neptune City

With an American Express commercial under her belt, Nicole Atkins is set to release her major-label debut, Neptune City, on October 30th. An appearance on Letterman is expected during the week of the release. Atkins will support The Raveonettes in October.
