The Good, The Bad and the Queen Debut in January

As you've heard, Damon Albarn of Blur, Paul Simonon of The Clash as well as members of The Verve and Fela Kuti's band have formed under the the name The Good, The Bad and the Queen. The superquartet will release its self-titled debut on January 23rd through Parlophone. You can check out "Herculean," the record's single, in the Downloads.

Bonk Against Nothing

Norway's Bonk dropped its sophomore record yesterday through Ace Fu. The band's fusion of all things rock (mainly of the "hard," "punk," and "garage" prefixes) is a common combo, but Bonk Against Nothing covers that terrain in a way all its own. Grab a track in the Downloads. Bonk will be touring the US in the spring as well as dropping in for SXSW.

The Ultra Payloaded Satellite Party

Satellite Party, Perry Farrell's new "project," will drop its debut album, The Ultra Payloaded Satellite Party, in March 2007. The Steve Lillywhite produced album leads off with the first single "Kinky," which features Peter Hook from New Order on bass. John Frusciante and Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers make appearances on five songs. The collective will perform live in January at the Winter X-Games in Aspen, CO.

The Bravery Complete The Sun and the Moon

New York's The Bravery have completed recording their sophomore effort, The Sun and the Moon. After mastering and mixing, a solid release date is sure to infiltrate the web. This week, the band will play three "not so secret" shows in the Northeast. After that, a string of South American dates and a stint of "private" shows (limited public tickets).

Brakes See The Beatific Visions

Brakes just released their second full-length, The Beatific Visions, to rave reviews in the UK last week. While the States won't see the album in stores until February 20th, 2007, the group will play some shows in December (following previous dates from July). The compilation, featuring exclusive, live and b-side tracks from artists including Thom Yorke, Feist, Cat Power, Wolfmother, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Franz Ferdinand, the Kaiser Chiefs and many others. It will be sold exclusively at Urban Outfitters and $8.99 from every CD sale (retail cost $9.99) from November 1st to March 15th, 2007 will be donated to the Komen Foundation to used for education, screening, treatment and research into the cause of Breast Cancer.

Originally conceived by Kurt Cobain the year after the release of Nirvana’s Nevermind, Live! Tonight! Sold Out!! makes its DVD debut on November 7th, 2006. First issued on VHS in 1994, Live! Tonight! Sold Out!! (Geffen/UMe) has now been color-corrected, digitally remastered for the first time in 5.1 surround sound and expanded from its original 83 minutes to include several previously unreleased performances.

Robbers On High Street Tour

Following up 2005's debut album Tree City, Robbers On High Street are pre-empting the release of their next full-length with this digital-only release of The Fatalist And Friends EP on November 14th. The EP features one unreleased track, two new songs from the upcoming full-length, Grand Animals (to be released Spring 2007) and the Paul McCartney-penned "Monkberry Moon Delight." East Coast fans can catch the band next month as they embark on a short warm-up tour in support of the EP.

Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age recently devoted some time to record video responses to recent questions from the "Ask The Band" section on their website. Young Galaxy of Montreal has signed with Arts & Crafts, bringing with them "a kaleidoscopic sound with heavy tones and hypnotic male/female vocals." Catch Galaxy touring with The Dears out West (and Midwest) from November 28th until December 8th. At the shows, you can snag a copy of the tour-exclusive Swing Your Heartache EP (released digitally on November 28th). Freeloaders can download an MP3 of "Swing Your Heartache." The band's debut full-length is due in January 2007.
