Of Montreal will spend somewhere around ten weeks on the road through the first third of 2007 to get the word out about Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?. The lengthy trek will see the band hitting some states multiple times as well as the occasional swing up to Canada.

Lucero Trek For Whisky and Good Times

Book of Knots Eat Trains, Apparently

New York City's Book of Knots will drop its sophomore album sometime in early spring of 2007. The band's debut was on the Austin-based Arclight Records, but since then the band has secured a deal with Anti-, who will release Traineater. Not only does Book of Knots boast a line-up with members/former members of Pere Ubu and Sparklehorse, but Traineater has appearances from Mike Watt, Tom Waits, David Thomas (Pere Ubu) and more.

Final Menomena Shows For 2006

Menomena have announced a 5-show, West Coast run with 31 Knots from November 30th through December 10th. Stephen McBean's Pink Mountaintops will also join for two shows. In other news, you can freely download an MP3 of "Wet and Rusting," this first single from Friend and Foe, over on Myspace. The album is still set to hit stores January 23rd.

!!! Complete Myth Takes

The latest word is that !!! have delivered their new album, titled Myth Takes, to Warp for release sometime in February/March 2007. The new material "combines an enhanced focus on incredible song writing with all the intricacy, freedom and shear dance floor swagger that made Louden Up Now such a delight." A massive tour schedule will no doubt surface soon.

Hellbound And Heartless Tour

In support of their Lars Frederiksen-produced, Hellcat debut Hellbound And Heartless, which just dropped October 24th, The Heart Attacks will kick off 2007 with a run of North American dates alongside punk vets The Queers. Launching January 9th in Lafayette, Indiana, the month-long trek is set to wrap in Oklahoma City, OK.

2007 Take Action! Tour Lineup

Hopeless & Sub City Records have confirmed the full line-up for the 2007 Take Action! Tour benefiting the Youth America Hotline. Headlining the event will be The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus who will perform along with Emery, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, A Static Lullaby, and Kaddisfly. This sixth annual charitable tour is slated to kick off in early February 2007 and hit over forty cities with alternative music's fastest rising bands.

Metallica will release The Videos: 1989-2004, the first-ever music video retrospective DVD on December 5th. The collection, which includes all 21 of Metallica's videos plus bonus features, spans the years from 1989's ...And Justice For All to 2003's St. Anger. The DVD also includes the 1989 release of the home video 2 of One, Mama Said, which never aired in North America, and several extras such as the 11+ minute "Theatrical Version" of "The Unforgiven". All audio on the DVD has been re-mixed in 5.1 surround sound.

Johnny Still Lives

Jonny Lives! have just release a new album entitled Get Steady (a full-length, not the EP of the same name) and they have a single for the title track featured on the upcoming National Lampoon's Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj Soundtrack. Throughout January and February, Jonny Lives! will be headlining the Van Wilder tour to promote the movie and we should have those dates soon.

V2 Records has a new offshoot called Little Monster Records that will release All Together Now, a kid-friendly approach to some grown-up favorite tunes. In this case, all songs from The Beatles, as sung by kids with a little help from some special friends. These friends include ex-Grandaddy mastermind Jason Lytle, Rachael Yamagata, 80's Egyptian-walkers The Bangles, mainstay Marshall Crenshaw, and New York Dolls guitarist Steve Conte.
