Radiohead Debuts Staircase

Radiohead debuted a new song, "Staircase," on YouTube yesterday from their forthcoming From The Basement session for Nigel Godrich. The song features a performance from Portishead's Clive Deamer. The session will feature songs from The King of Limbs. [www.youtube.com]

Chris Taylor Announces CANT Full-Length

Chris Taylor (Grizzly Bear) is set to release the debut full-length from his solo project, CANT, on September 13th through Terrible/Warp Records. The album, titled Dreams Come True, was recorded in collaboration with George Lewis Jr. of Twin Shadow. [warp.net]

New M83 Double-Album this Fall

Anthony Gonzalez is prepping a new M83 double-album to be released in October. The record is "mainly about dreams, how every one is different" and splits time between Saturdays = Youth synth-pop and his earlier ambient work. Battles Plot Fall 2011 North American Tour

Primus Ready Green Naugahyde

Primus will release their first studio album in 11 years, Green Naugahyde, on Septmeber 13th through ATO Records/Prawn Songs. Les Claypool described the record as "reminiscent of the early stuff." Drummer Jay Lane left the band before the recording of Frizzle Fry. [www.primusville.com]

Deftones Begin Writing Seventh Album

Deftones will soon begin writing new songs for a follow-up to 2010's Diamond Eyes. They'll meet up again in September to begin the real work and tentatively release something in early 2012. According to Chino Moreno, the band's shelved album, Eros, "will one day see the light of day." However, the band will write and record a new album before that happens. [www.billboard.com]
