Just wanted to notify you that Muse have posted Black Holes and Revelations in its entirety on MySpace. The album is still due in the US on July 11th.
I always forget to check out the new performances posted online from the World Cafe with David Dye on NPR. A few notable sets from the past few days include Elvis Costello, Jose Gonzalez and Ben Harper. I'm sure a new series will begin July 1st, so be sure to listen to those in the next few days. Or, maybe just grab the podcast link.
The Ratchets are presently putting the finishing touches on their forthcoming debut full-length, Glory Bound. The Jersey group has penned 10 new songs for the set, to be released on Pirates Press sometime this Fall. For further reading, Swedish website Mutiny just posted a new interview with Jed Engine and Zak Kaplan.
Canada's Broken Social Scene will appear on the Late Show with David Letterman tonight. Maybe they'll play "Fire Eye'd Boy," but I can't imagine how that might translate to TV. Update: Thanks to the power of the interweb, you can now watch the performance on YouTube.
Birdmonster, hailing from San Francisco, is garnering acclaim most anywhere they're heard. You can snag "Resurrection Song" from their self-titled EP in the Downloads. If that barely whets your appetite, hit woxy.com and download their 6-song set from June 16th or preview tracks from their debut full-length, No Midnight, on MySpace (i.e., your best bet). If that all goes well, procure your very own tangible copy of the album at Cinderblock.
Polyvinyl will release a compilation of Of Montreal remixes entitled Satanic Twins on August 22. The likes of Mixel Pixel, Broken Spindles, Grizzly Bear and anticon are among the list of remixers featured throughout the 12 tracks reinventing the sounds of Satanic Panic In The Attack and The Sunlandic Twins. Read more about it and stream two songs right over here.
Attention, disc-jockeys and turntablists! There's a competition sponsored by Guitar Center going on around the country in which you can win a trip to San Francisco for the finals. You'll find all the details here. In addition to that, one of the competition's sponsors, Stone's Throw Records, will be selling an exclusive compilation, and you can see the tracks here...
After 11 years as a band and rightfully earning their spot at the top of the indie rock ranks of bands guaranteed to deliver, Sleater-Kinney announced today that they will be going on "indefinite hiatus." Check the more for the official message from the band as well as their final tour dates. Then go out and pick up Dig Me Out.
Word has it that Bjork has officially now hunkered down and is writing material for her follow up to Medulla. While that album probably won't see the light of day until next year, may we remind you that the Surrounded box set hit stores today. Order your copy at One Little Indian for a chance at a "special lithograph."
Austin, Texas' Voxtrot has signed to Playlouder, a new wing of the Beggars Group. Read our review of their Mothers, Sisters, Daughters & Wives EP and hit the Downloads for an MP3 of the title track.
Avant-popsters Chin Up Chin Up have paired with Suicide Squeeze Records for the release of This Harness Can't Ride Anything on October 10. Before that, though, the band will partake in the label's ten-year anniversary celebration (along with Minus the Bear) and the Pitchfork Music Festival later on this summer. The tracklisting for the band's second LP is here...
Cale Parks, the rhythm machine behind Aloha (who are still riding high and strong off their latest, Some Echoes), will release his debut solo record on Polyvinyl Records. The album, entitled Illuminated Manuscript, will be available on September 26th, and from the promotional single "Wet Paint", it's evident that Parks is much more than the man behind Aloha's drum kit. Check out the track in the Downloads.
About-Face comes out on July 18, and in the meantime The Working Title will be posting a new track from the record on their Pure Volume page. That is all.
Atlanta's Mastodon is set to unleash Blood Mountain, its follow-up to the acclaimed Leviathan, sometime this summer. In an interview with MTV from April (yeah, we're kind of behind), the group mentioned members of Neurosis and The Mars Volta appear on the album. A fan recently posted a video of an unamed song on YouTube, if you'd like a preview. The footage was captured on a recent New Jersey date of The Unholy Alliance Tour, which will feature Mastodon until July 26th.
Orchestral pop collective The Hidden Cameras will release their new album, AWOO, in the US through Arts & Crafts on September 19th. The set has been described as "an album of obscene, outraged acoustic singalongs for the whole family."

The album was actually produced by big brother Mike Einziger of Incubus. Head over to MySpace where you can preview four new songs from the album, which is quite a departure from past efforts. If you like what you hear, catch them out on tour with 30 Seconds To Mars.
Starting in late August, Zero 7 will head out on the road in support of the recently released The Garden. Of course, the record wouldn't be complete without the outside input of Jose Gonzalez and Sia Furler, so the pair are requisite for the tour as well. Here are the dates...
