The Blood Brothers have announced they will return to the studio on April 23rd to begin recording the follow-up to Crimes. This time around, they've enlisted the help of Guy Picciotto (Fugazi) and John Goodmanson (who helmed the boards on Crimes).

Preview Tracks From Sound The Alarm

You can preview "The End" and "Shattered" from the upcoming Saves The Day album, Sound The Alarm, with this Vagrant ecard. We now have the tracklist for the album, due in stores April 11th, and dates until May 7th have been released for their current tour. As well, it looks as if Manny Carrero (Glassjaw, Stillsuit) is now holding down bass duties.

The Working Title's Debut LP, Tour

South Carolina quartet The Working Title will release their debut LP About-Face sometime in June. No exact date is set, but the Cause For Alarm-based release will follow up the band's sole other release, the EP Everyone Else Here is Wrong, and of course they'll be touring, this time with Mute Math.

Merge will release a second singles collection from Lambchop on April 11th. In keeping with the band's clever titles, the set will be called The Decline Of Country & Western Civilization Part II: The Woodwind Years. Word also has it that Lambchop's new full-length album is expected in August.

No Deodorant Ads... Yet

Since her latest clean-up, Courtney Love has been a busy bee. She has sold the rights (we had a preview) to part of the Nirvana catalogue. Apparently twenty-five percent of her share of Nirvana's publishing catalog has gone to Larry Mestel of Primary Wave Music Publishing, former COO/GM of Virgin Records. She is also in the works to do some music for her next solo project with Moby. Read more about it at RollingStone.com.

Giant Drag releases bonus track, goes on tour

Giant Drag released Hearts & Unicorns some time last year but have decided that since so many people at their shows love their Chris Issak cover of "Wicked Game" that they are going to re-release it with a studio version of the song. Of course if you already bought the disc, you're kind of screwed but that's something you can take up with the band while they are on their massive North American tour.

Thank you Suicide Squeeze

Everyone should thank Suicide Squeeze for all the great music they put out. Everyone including themselves. The label will be releasing a 10-year anniversary double-disc compilation CD featuring exclusive tracks from Elliott Smith, Modest Mouse, 764-Hero, the Six Parts Seven, The Aislers Set and many of their current roster (which includes Goon Moon, Headphones, Minus The Bear, Crystal Skulls and many more. Look for that disc on August 22nd and then book your flight to Seattle to catch the 3-night blow-out featuring tons of Suicide Squeeze bands.

We've got good news and bad news. The bad news: we'll have to wait until September 9th (Japan) for the new EP from The Life and Times (the US distro is being worked out, currently). The good news: Epley and crew have announced a bunch of new tour dates, including a decent sized East Coast run with Pelican, Mono and MGR.

Wires On Fire Debut

Buddyhead's newest recruits Wires On Fire are nearly finished recording their debut full-length, with help from the duo of Alain Johannes and Natasha Shneider. The group currently has the song "Daisy" featured on the The Hills Have Eyes soundtrack. Catch them live on April 4th at The Troubadour in Hollywood, CA.
