Team Love will release Bottoms of Barrels, the sophomore release from Tilly & The Wall on May 23rd of 2006. The lead off single will be entitled "Bad Education," though there is no confirmation that an actual single will be released.

Ambulance LTD find New English

Ambulance LTD will release an EP entitled New English on March 14th. The seven track disc will include two brand new songs, a Pink Floyd cover, a UK b-side, and a few demos. The band plans to release their next full-length album in late summer.

Lollapalooza grows in size

While Lollapalooza is going to stick to their decision of having the grand music extravaganza be confinded to a one time event instead of a touring debacle they have extended the number of days that the event will take place over. This year Lollapalooza 2006 will take place from Aug. 4 - Aug 6th in Chicago's Grant Park. No acts have been confirmed yet but they are expecting around 130 different artists to appear.

Espers, Round II

Sound & Vision--Blondie, not Bowie

March 7 will see the release of yet another greatest hits (titled Sound & Vision from Blondie. 30 years after its self-titled debut helped to kickstart NYC's new wave scene, the band's latest collection sees the classics alongside some lesser-known numbers and two that were previously unreleased. The package also includes a DVD with 13 of the band's videos and much, much more. The old folks also plan on hitting the road again sometime later in the year...dates to be announced.

In the Story of My Life You'll Barely Get a Mention

Even though her father is reportedly upset about it, Courtney Love has been inked on with a supposed $1 million dollar publishing deal for a memoir-type book based on her "intimate" journals. The book, tenatively titled Dirty Blonde, is going to focus on Love's long strange trip to stardom, with special attention to her life with late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. Catfish Haven Full-Length

Even though they just released the Please Come Back EP, Catfish Haven will release their Graeme Gibson produced full-length on September 12th, 2006. This is by far the most advanced warning ever (as long as the date isn't tentative). In other news, Catfish Haven will appear at the Secretly Canadian SXSW showcase on March 18th at Emo's in Austin, TX.

Oh Joy!

Decisions have been made and set for the cast of the upcoming Joy Division biopic being directed by Anton Corbijn. Newcomer Sam Riley has been signed to play depressed frontman Ian Curtis (in the wake of rumours that Jude Law would be tagged for the part). Curtis's remaining bandmembers, New Order, will be recording new tracks as well as re-recording a few Joy Division songs for the soundtrack. No release date as of press time.

If you've found yourself frustrated with compiling all the various singles and b-sides from Massive Attack you can rest easy with the release of Collected, a two-disc collection of singles (CD 1) and rarities (CD 2). A DualDisc version will be available that includes the bands videos. Look for it April 4th.

Of Montreal re-releases

With the absence of the Kindercore label from the world of indie music these days, Of Montreal has had to deal with part of their back catalog being a tough find. Polyvinyl Records aims to fix this on March 7, by re-releasing The Bedside Drama: A Petit Tragedy, The Early Four Track Recordings, and The Bird Who Continues To Eat The Rabbit's Flower. The band is still on tour, too...
