In case you have been subject to internet rumors and hearsay claiming that the future of Lookout Records is in question, you might want to head over to Lookout and read a "An Open Letter..." from label president Chris Appelgren. Rumors have been circulating since the announcement that Green Day had pulled their past releases from Lookout's catalog, so it's good to get an official answer.
Though it's very tentative news, The Shins recently mentioned that songsmith James Mercer has already begun actively writing songs for the band's follow-up to Chutes Too Narrow. Once the songs have been penned, Mercer and crew reportedly will spend rest the Summer and part of Fall recording the new album.
Your Enemies Friends have been writing "tons of new songs" for their follow-up to You Are Being Videotaped. The band plan to hit the studio in October to begin recording.
Regurgitator did indeed recently release a new EP. However, previous reports stated to release to be titled Pillowhead. Instead, the new EP is in fact titled #?*!. Head over the band's official website to order a copy.

The Stills are nearly finished with their sophomore album, due out early next year. In a recent post to their message board, the band mentioned all that's left is to "make artwork, find a title, make last minute mix changes and master it." Nevertheless, a process that could take some time. However they did provide a tenative list of tracks (in no particular order)...

Chevelle recently posted a statement on their official website reporting the departure of founding member, bassist and brother, Joe Loeffler. Of the departure, Joe stated, "This will be positive for me and my brothers. I'm looking forward to all of the new opportunities this will make available to me." But we all know it's 'cause he came down with a case of Dave Navarro syndrome and couldn't keep his damn shirt on. As reported, Chevelle is currently on tour, but will begin writing the follow-up to This Type Of Thinking Could Do Us In afterwards.
Far-Less have completed work on Everyone Is Out To Get Us, their new album recorded with producer Lee March in Atlanta, GA. The guys will now move onto mixing and are eyeing a January release through Tooth & Nail.
Taking a break from writing his upcoming album, G. Love recently taped an episode of Austin City Limits along with Jack Johnson. The show will air on October 8th on PBS nationwide.
