The Party Odyssey

To celebrate the release of their new album, Odyssey, Fischerspooner will hosting listening parties across the US. The party spots will all be displaying reproductions of the art and photography that inspired Odyssey, including photos from Casey Spooner and design by Gareth Hague. The parties are open to the public and will be a good chance to hear the band's new record.

Death For Life

Death By Stereo are set to release their new album Death For Life on June 7th via Epitaph. In anticipation of the new release, the band will perform with Shadows Fall on April 7; then kick off a headlining tour April 14, followed by a main supporting slot with Mastodon in May.

VAST releases album for at least third time

We're not sure how many times you're allowed to release an album but if you're VAST you just keep doing it until you're satisfied with the results. Instead of working with other labels frontman Jon Crosby is taking his 2 Blossoms label out on its own. Starting in June fans will be able to find the full versions of Nude 1 and Nude 2 in stores. Or you could download Turquoise & Crimson, the double CD featuring alternate mixes and demos of songs that are also found on Nude.

As if the 33-track double-disc we told you was forthcoming April 26th from the Eels wasn't enough Eels for you, the band has announced that starting today you can get the Hey Man EP on iTunes featuring 3 non-album tracks (including the 13-minute live version of "Love of the Loveless").

Alternative Press and VANS have teamed up for their first ever tour featuring Minus The Bear, Gratitude and many more. The venues are not your typical arena sized places so check the dates and get your tickets early if you're into it.

The Future does not contain spaces

Billy Corgan will release his solo debut THEFUTUREEMBRACE on June 21st via Warner Bros. The ex-Pumpkin plans to tour some intimate venues starting in July in support of the record. The 11-track disc features a cover of the Bee Gee's song "To Love Somebody" with Robert Smith on backing vocals.

Frank Black readies album

Pixies frontman Frank Black will release another solo album on July 19th via Back Porch Records. The new release, entitled Honeycomb, is expected to be more of in Americana style. So much for that new Pixies disc you were holding your breath for.

Lollapalooza returns.. again

It seems that Lollapalooza is coming back, once again. The giant festival was cancelled in 2004 due to poor ticket sales but organizers have announced that 2005 will see the giant concert return as a one-off event in Chicago's Grant Park. July 23rd - 24th is the slated date for the event with acts such as Beck, The Killers, Kings of Leon and many more. The festivals site will relaunch on April 1st with a full lineup being announced three weeks later. We'll let you know.

The Black Keys are on tour

In support of Rubber Factory, the Black Keys are out on the road. Check the more for dates but if you're unable to make it know that the band hopes to release a live DVD of their recent performance in Syndney.
