Abandoned Pools release small puddle

Abandoned Pools will release a 5 song EP to independent music stores on June 7th. The untitled EP will be available on iTunes as well and is slated to contain new studio stracks, b-sides, and demos. Their follow-up full length, Armed to the Teeth, should follow soon afterwards.

Tragic House

Reports are out that the former drummer for Crowded House, Paul Hester, was found dead in a Melbourne, Australia, park on Saturday from an apparent suicide. He is survived by his girlfriend and two young daughters. More details can be found here.

Blinking Lights and European Tour Dates

Despite having sworn off touring the Eels are slowly confirming new tour dates in support of the forthcoming Blinking Lights and Other Revelations. However, frontman E has decided to take a massive turn from his rocked out shows of the past few years and warns "If you're looking for rock -- turn back." So far, only European dates (and 2 warm up CA shows) have been solidified.

Absolutely Kosher has announced that they assure us that the third Thingy album will be released this year. Added to that, they have announced the debut release of "metal monstrosity" Goblin Cock. If you didn't know both of these bands are side projects of Rob Crow of Pinback fame.
