Brent Knopf Parts Ways with Menomena

According to the band, Brent Knopf has parted ways with Menomena "to focus on Ramona Falls and other creative pursuits." The remaining members will be joined by Paul Alcott for a tour in March. The Life and Times Recording Third Album

The Life and Times will release a new 7-inch, feauturing new songs "Day II" and "Day III," at their Empty Bottle gig in Chicago, IL on January 21st. The two new tracks are reportedly "just a hint at what's to come." The band will lay down basic tracks at GWRR before heading home to assemble their third full-length, which is described as "heavy as balls," "super direct and immediate" and epic. Color us excited. Pearl Jam Celebrating 20th Anniversary All Year Long

Pearl Jam are coming correct for their 20th anniversary. They will release Live on Ten Legs on January 18th, which chronicles 18 live tracks recorded between 2003 and 2010. Spring reissues of Vs. and Vitalogy are in the works. Cameron Crowe's documentary on the band will be released with an "accompanying book and soundtrack album." The Dead Milkmen Complete New Album

According to Philebrity, The Dead Milkmen have just finished tracking 17 songs for their first album in 15 years, tentatively titled The King In Yellow. The full-length was recorded in "two-day marathon sessions at Buddha Sounds and at Miner Street Studio." The group is currently looking at a "March or April" release date, after mixing in February. Coldplay Talks Fifth Album

Chris Martin recently told BBC that the new Coldplay full-length will be about "love, addiction, OCD, escape and working for someone you don't like," but isn't a concept album. The effort will once again be produced by Brian Eno and Markus Dravs and "has a lot of uplifting stuff." [www.bbc.co.uk]
