The Strokes Still Eyeing March for Fourth Album

Bassist Nikolai Fraiture recently told BBC that The Strokes forthcoming album is "in the mixing stage" and due on March 22nd (as speculated). Fraiture reported the new record "should have been made between Room On Fire and First Impressions Of Earth." Also, Julian Casablancas "recorded his vocals separately from the band." [www.bbc.co.uk]

Foo Fighters Officially Done with New Album

According to a tweet, Foo Fighters are officially done with their new album. As previously reported, the effort features production from Butch Vig and contributions from Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic. Grohl calls it the "most rocking record yet." In related news, fans can enter the This Video Sucks contest for a chance to direct a video for one of the 11 songs on the new album, which will premiere on Fuse. [www.billboard.com]

Toro Y Moi Announces 2011 Tour

As reported, South Carolina's Toro Y Moi will release his sophomore album, Underneath the Pine, on February 22nd through Carpark Records. Chaz Bundick has announced a US tour in March and April supporting the album, including a stop at SXSW. [pitchfork.com]

Dispatch Announces 2011 Reunion Shows

Dispatch will reunite and tour this summer for six one-off shows. Tickets go on sale January 28th. The band is giving away all four albums digitally, in exchange for spreading the word. Portions of the proceeds will go to "education programs in local communities." [www.dispatchmusic.com]
