Queens of the Stone Age to Reissue Debut

According to Rekords Rekords, the Joshua Homme imprint will reissue vinyl of the out-of-print Queens of the Stone Age debut album on November 26th, with the CD version coming on November 30th. Three songs cut from the original release have been reinstated, "The Bronze," "These Aren't the Droids You're Looking For" and "Spiders and Vinegaroons." [www.rekordsrekords.com]

Cave In Announces Anomalies Vol. 1

Cave In will release the next installment of their Anomalies series on December 14th. The collection will actually be Anomalies Vol. 1, as the band released Vol. 2: Live at Mazda Palace, Milan, Italy 10/27/03 first. However, look out for "a pre-release date 'leak' on Black Friday." Mogwai Signs to Sub Pop

Kid Koala Finishing Up Space Cadet

Montreal's Kid Koala is putting the finishing touches on the soundtrack for his second graphic novel, Space Cadet. Eric San told Spinner the score is "almost classical" and that he "recorded a lot of it on baby grand piano." San will take the novel on the road following its completion. Fans will experience the music through headphones and 3D projections. Considering recent news of The Slew reactivating, San is one busy guy. [www.spinner.com]

Kinks Album of Collaborative Covers in the Works

According to TwentyFourBit, a nice group of collaborators are turning out to rework past material from The Kinks. Several sources, including Ray Davies, have confirmed Spoon, Billy Corgan, Bruce Springsteen, Frank Black, Alex Chilton, Lucinda Williams and Bon Jovi. Davies hinted at new material back in March and this is probably part of what he was talking about. Said album is expected before the end of 2010. [www.twentyfourbit.com]

Bad Religion Plans Retrospective Shows, New Album

Bad Religion has planned three decade-spanning shows at Irving Plaza in New York City on October 20th, 26th and 27th. The first night will feature songs from How Can Hell Be Any Worse? to No Control, the second Against the Grain to No Substance and the last The New America to New Maps of Hell. Gimmie Some Truth Launches in October

On October 5th, EMI will release the Gimmie Some Truth, a four-CD box set commemorating the music of John Lennon and what would have been his 70th birthday. Along with Truth, Double Fantasy Stripped Down, Power To The People: The Hits and the deluxe, 11-CD John Lennon Signature Box will be released. K.C. Accidental Reissue Planned

Arts & Crafts will reissue the two self-released EPs (Captured Anthems For An Empty Bathtub and Anthems For The Could’ve Bin Pills) from K.C. Accidental, Kevin Drew and Charles Spearin's musical project prior to Broken Social Scene, on October 26th.
