Interpol Return to Matador, Recruit Two New Members

Interpol have returned to Matador Records for the release of the forthcoming, self-titled record. The date is now set for September 14th 7th. Furthermore, according to a report from the band, Dave Pajo (Slint, Zwan) and Brandon Curtis (Secret Machines) will join the band on their upcoming tours playing bass and keyboards/vocals respectively. Sex With An X from The Vaselines

Sub Pop recently announced The Vaselines are set to release their sophomore album, Sex With An X, on September 14th. Their debut, Dum-Dum, was released in 1989. Sufjan Stevens Recording New Album

In an interview with Exclaim, Bryce Dessner of The National confirmed Sufjan Stevens is hard at work on a new album. Dessner said the new music is not like Stevens' past work and is "going to probably blow people’s minds." The National performed on some of Stevens' new tracks, as well. [www.exclaim.ca]

Rage Against The Machine Might Record New Album

Zack de la Rocha recently told NME "it's a genuine possibility" that Rage Against The Machine will record a new album. Rekords Rekords Moves to Dangerbird

Joshua Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures is moving his Rekords Rekords imprint to Dangerbird Records. The solo debut from Alain Johannes, Spark, is due on August 31st and a bunch of Desert Sessions releases are in the queue. [www.theprp.com]

Toadies to Finally Release Feeler this Summer

According to a teaser video on the Toadies website, the band have re-recorded the songs from their shelved, 1998 album Feeler (rejected by Interscope after Rubberneck) and will issue the record through Kirtland Records this summer. This news comes on the heels of the band's summer tour schedule. Last, after the tour and Feeler hoopla, the band hope to hit the studio, write and record a brand new album for 2011. Isis Disband

Isis have decided to call it quits. In statement on their blog, the band pledged to continue "pursuing the completion of a final EP, compiling live audio and visual material for future releases, and generally doing whatever we can to make our music available for as long as there are people who wish to hear it."
