Animal Collective Readies Single, Fall Be Kind EP

Avey Tare of Animal Collective recently provided a rundown of the band's plans for the remainder of 2009. The Flaming Lips Secret Show, Pop-Up Store

To celebrate tomorrow's release of Embryonic from The Flaming Lips, a pop-up store will setup shop at the Nike / Ricardo Montalban Theater located at 1615 Vine St. in Hollywood, CA on October 15th from noon to midnight. Fans will be able to purchase "unique artifacts available on this day and location only" and be treated to a MySpace Secret Show. Tickets are first-come first-serve at the location.

Brian Wilson to Complete Unfinished Gershwin Songs

According to the LA Times, Brian Wilson will finish "at least two" unfinished George Gershwin songs, after receiving authorization from the composers' estate. Gershwin left behind "several dozen song fragments" when he died in 1937. Wilson plans to include the songs on a tribute album in 2010. [www.latimes.com]

Regina Spektor is Keeping Busy

Regina Spektor will appear on Saturday Night Live this Saturday, October 10th. She'll perform her second single, "Eet," from Far. In other news, Spektor will soon collaborate on Beauty, a Broadway musical, and recently completed a duet with violinist Joshua Bell (preview the track on Music Mix). Burial May Remix New Massive Attack Album

Following in the footsteps of 1995's No Protection, a dub remix of Protection from Massive Attack by Mad Professor, Daddy G revealed to Clash Magazine that Burial may remix many of the tracks from the forthcoming Massive Attack album, due in February. There's no schedule for the remix project, but that it may happen is enough to be excited about. [www.clashmusic.com]

The Love Language Signs to Merge

Chapel Hill's The Love Language have signed to Merge Records. The group released its self-titled debut in March of this year on Bladen County Records. Singer/songwriter Stuart McLamb is currently working on songs for a sophomore record, due in 2010. [www.mergerecords.com]
