According to NME, the new Editors album will be titled In This Light And On This Evening and released on September 22nd October 13th. Back in December, Tom Smith described the new material as having an "electronic sheen." The band will preview songs from the record at an O2 Academy Birmingham gig on September 10th. [www.nme.com]

Pete Yorn Summer Tour

Pete Yorn will tour the US in support of his new album, Back and Fourth, due June 23rd. The trek kicks off in San Diego on July 9th and ends in late August with a two-night residency in Los Angeles. Pearl Jam Announces Backspacer

Pearl Jam will release Backspacer this fall. Manager Kelly Curtis confirmed to Billboard that Target will be the exclusive "big box" partner for the record, as the band is without a formal label contract. Magnolia Electric Co. Ready Josephine

Magnolia Electric Co. will return on July 21st with Josephine through Secretly Canadian. The album was produced by Steve Albini and is "an honest-to-God effort on the part of Magnolia Electric Co. to pay tribute to the life and spirit of fallen bassist Evan Farrell." [stereogum.com]

Sigur Ros Announce New Album for 2010

According to a post on their website, Sigur Ros have nearly completed a new full-length. The album is reportedly a "slower and more ambient record," but not expected to be released until "sometime next year." However, that's not a big shock, considering the upcoming Riceboy Sleeps album, the Jonsi solo album with Nico Muhly and Kjarri's work on the Odine soundtrack. [www.sigur-ros.co.uk]
