Frenchkiss Records artist The Big Sleep have announced the official followup to their debut, Son of the Tiger, to be released on February 19th. The new album, Sleep Forever, promises to be more post-rock, huge guitar, MBV inspired goodness and to prove it the band is going out on a short tour with The Thermals starting in December.

Tapes 'n Tapes Complete New Album

As it was, Tapes 'n Tapes hit the studio this past summer to record a new album. Word from the camp is that new album, recorded with Dave Fridmann, is finished. The band will most likely preview said album at The Triple Rock in Minneapolis on November 30th.

Goldfrapp Grows a Seventh Tree

Weezer Assembling Tout Ensemble

Weezer have announced the working title Tout Ensemble for their forthcoming sixth LP. The album is slated for an April 22nd, 2008 release. In related news, the release of Rivers' solo album has been pushed back to December 18th. Update: Looks like this was a hoax, but a new Weezer album will be released at some point in 2008.

VICE Records has recently announced that they'll have the pleasure of putting out the next record from The Raveonettes on February 19th, 2008. Lust Lust Lust, as the album is called, has already been touted as the duo's best record yet by the British press.

The Life And Times Writing, Recording

The Life and Times are currently writing and recording demos in their home studio for a possible Spring 2008 release on one of a possible six labels. The band also recorded 33 hours of some "absolutely stunning" footage on their recent overseas tour and hope to assemble a half-hour feature to accompany to upcoming album.

Riddle Of Steel Travel Back To 1985

St. Louis' Riddle Of Steel have completed work their new album, 1985, with Paul Malinowski (Shiner, Open Hand) producing. The CD release show will be at the The Bluebird in St. Louis on November 30th, but the street date won't be until 2008. Ascetic Records will be streaming the full album on their website all day on November 28th.
