When Kenseth Thibideau (Pinback, Tarentel) and Zac Nelson get together they call themselves Prints. The duo will release their self-titled debut album on Temporary Residence in October. You can currently hear four songs from said album on MySpace.

September Is National Wombats Month

The Wombats from Liverpool will invade the US this September with a self-titled digital EP (despite the fact their new UK full-length was just released). If you happen to live in New York, The Wombats will perform at Annex tomorrow around 10-ish. For the rest of us, hearing the band on MySpace will have to do.

As you may remember, the new Jonah Matranga album is due September 18th. The 10-track "solo debut" will be titled And and will be released by Limekiln Records. A UK tour supporting Frank Turner has been announced, but we're still waiting on US dates.

Thrice Sign To Vagrant, Set Alchemy Index Dates

Following on the heels of their tour news, Thrice has announced they will release The Alchemy Index: Vols. I & II - Fire & Water through Vagrant on October 16th. That album's partner, The Alchemy Index: Vols. III & IV - Earth & Air, will be released in Spring of 2008. Leading up to the release of the first set, the band will be posting ten video teasers on YouTube.

Rogue Wave Set Tour, Open for Feist

As you've heard, Rogue Wave is set to release Asleep At Heaven's Gates on September 18th on Brushfire Records. The band has landed a 6-date stint with Feist and then will head out on their own headlining tour on October 10th.

Fiery Furnaces travel to Widow City

Ouija Boards and 70's fashion are not often cited as the sources of inspiration for a full-length album from any band but Fiery Furnaces never have seemed to fit the mold. The duo has announced that their sixth LP, Widow City, will be released October 9th on Thrill Jockey.

Dim Mak founder and definitive hipster extraordinaire Steve Aoki will be releasing his first mix compilation, Pillow Face & His Airplane Chronicles, on October 27th. The mix compilation features the likes of Klaxons, Justice, Bloc Party and more being remixed by a host of talents that include MSTRKRFT, Todd Fink (The Faint) and Steve Bays (Hot Hot Heat) .

Prefuse 73 readies his Preparations

The next full-length album from WARP's Prefuse 73 will be entitled Preparations and is slated for release on October 23rd. The two-disc album will only be available in retail stores with digital retailers receiving a stinted one-disc version. The first single from the disc is entitled "The Class of 73 Bells" and features ex-Secret Machines Benajmin Curtis project School of Seven Bells on the track. The single is available for pre-order here and we'll let you know more details as they emerge...
