Earth Division EP from Mogwai

Reported by heyrevolver

Mogwai will release the Earth Division EP on September 13th. The set "highlights a more subdued side of Mogwai, with three quietly plaintive piano- and string-infused tracks, plus the fuzz-drenched haze of 'Drunk and Crazy'". [www.subpop.com]

The Icarus Line Return with Wildlife

Reported by heyrevolver

Yesterday, The Icarus Line released their fourth full-length, Wildlife, and the follow-up to 2007's Black Lives at the Golden Coast. Admittedly, the band's "punk spit" has been replaced with a "Beggars Banquet-era Stones-influence". Check out the video for "We Sick" on Vimeo. The album is available digitally on iTunes. Members of Mastodon, Dillinger Escape Plan Plot Supergroup

Reported by heyrevolver

Brent Hinds of Mastodon recently told Noisecreep that he, Ben Weinman of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Thomas Pridgen of The Mars Volta and former Jane's Addiction bassist Eric Avery are currently plotting the formation of a new group (supergroup, if you will). The foursome haven't found much time to collaborate yet and they probably won't, with The Hunter impending. However, Hinds commented that the group "want to record crazy stuff and Ben [Weinman] is working on that." [www.noisecreep.com]
