Twee popsters Islands will be returning to the studio in February to work on their follow-up to Return to the Sea. Frontman Nick Diamonds (henceforth to be known only as Nick Thorburn) describes the songs as "all brand new, 10 minutes long with innumerable key & tempo changes, modulation, genre-meddling bombastic progressive rock existential death-defying dangerousness."

This Saturday night you can catch The Shins on Saturday Night Live and expect to see Anita from Viva Voce joining them onstage. The entirety of Viva Voce will be joining the Shins on their upcoming tour as well as playing a ton of their own dates.

Kaiser Chiefs pen letter from disgruntled collective

The sophomore release from Kaiser Chiefs will be released domestically March 27th but you can snag it as an import as early as February 26th. The album, entitled Yours Truly, Angry Mob, was produced by Stephen Street (The Smiths, Promise Ring).

Aqueduct (David Terry) will release Or Give Me Death on February 20th through Barsuk. The album follows the acclaimed I Sold Gold and expands on that sound with "mariachi horns, Gershwin-esque strings, looped and layered vocals, and grand piano."
