Rob Crow has announced some dates in support of his new solo album, Living Well. The album is due in store January 23rd. The dates live below:
Straight from the label: The new Modest Mouse album, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank will be in stores March 20th. The first single “Dashboard” was posted a couple days ago.
The first Cold War Kids tour of the year kicks off on Wednesday at NYC's Pianos club, and takes the quartet through the beginning of April. The band is also finishing up a video for the track "Hang Me Up to Dry" from the acclaimed Robbers & Cowards, which hit stores late last year.
Psycho-billy act Tiger Army have announced the release of Music From Regions Beyond, which is set for a June 5th date through Hellcat Records. The trio is also slated for this summer's Vans Warped Tour.
Deerhoof and the Harlem Shakes will be treating the East Coast to a tour starting in February. Both bands are pushing new releases.
Given all that's happened in the past year, Poison The Well are amazingly still at it. The three remaining members, Jeffrey Moreira, Ryan Primack and Chris A. Hornbrook, have finished tracking their new album, now titled Versions. As well, they group have inked a deal with Ferret Music, who hope to release the new album in April. Swedish popsters Peter, Bjorn and John will bring their debut album Writers Block to North America on February 6th. The disc will be packaged with a bonus disc of five tracks consisting of remixes and b-sides. If you've not heard the band, I suggest watching the video for "Young Folks" immediately.
Mark Linkous, aka Sparklehorse, will be hitting roads across North America in support of his latest release, Dreamt for Light Years In The Belly of a Mountain. He'll be bringing Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter along with him as they support their February 6th release Like, Love, Lust & the Open Halls of the Soul.
You can now preview the entire album from The Good, The Bad and The Queen over on their myspace page. The self titled debut full-length is still scheduled for a January 23rd release.
Kicking off '07, Talib Kweli and Madlib have joined forces to bring you Liberation. The 9-song set is available for free download! Kweli, however, did advise fans not to expect this sound from his upcoming album, Ear Drum (due out on Kweli's Warner Bros. imprint, Blacksmith).
Modest Mouse have released the new track "Dashboard" and we have it for you in Windows Media or Quicktime. Obviously, the parent album, We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, is not quite out yet, but "early 2007" seems to be the general consensus. A video and world tour are also in the works. For now, just enjoy what seems to be the first morsel from a great album.
Hymns For Disco, the new record from k-os, will hit stores in the US on February 20. The alternative rapper plans to take out Gym Class Heroes, P.O.S. and the RX Bandits as tour support.
Animal Collective member Panda Bear (Noah Lennox) has announced the tracklisting for the upcoming Person Pitch, out on March 20th. You can grab the track "Comfy in Nautica" in the Downloads.
Over the Counter Culture is the upcoming record from Tim Fite, due out February 20. But you won't have to throw down some dollars on it--he's giving it away for free on his website. The record, according to the press release, "is a scathing examination of commercial culture and it's adverse effects on life in general, and on rap music specifically." Cool.
Classic Case from will release Losing At Life through Fearless on February 20th. The Raleigh, NC band worked with Page Hamilton (Helmet) on the record and plan to release a homemade documentary. For now, they're headed out with The Almost (Aaron Gillespie of Underoath) and Forgive Durden. Listen to "Into A Nightmare" at Purevolume.
Friend and Foe from Menomena is still set to drop on January 23rd. To help spread the word, Barsuk has released a full album stream. We snagged the tracklist for good measure, too.
Busdriver is finally set to drop his Epitaph debut, RoadKillOvercoat, on January 30th. The set features production from both Nobody and Boom Bip. Grab the track "The Troglodyte Wins" in the Downloads and visit the album page for more details.
Evan Dando is prepped to bring The Lemonheads through the States one more time, from January 25th through February 24th. The trek is in further support of the self-titled release on Vagrant last year. Grab "No Backbone" from the album in the Downloads .
Bright Eyes already has two releases in the cards for 2007. On March 6th, Oberst will release the Four Winds EP, featuring the self-titled track and first album single as well as five exclusive b-sides. Then, on April 10th, a new full-length, Cassadaga, will be released from Saddle Creek, featuring apperances from M. Ward, Gillian Welch and Janet Weiss (Sleater-Kinney, Quasi). Obviously, touring and whatnot is inevitable, so that information will be available soon. For now, visit the Bright Eyes website to stream the track "Endless Entertainment."
