Acoustic Foo disc in the works

Back in May we told you that the Foo Fighters would be going on an acoustic tour in support of disc two of their latest release, In Your Honor. The band has announced that they will release a CD / DVD entitled Skin and Bones touting music from three of the performances in LA. The tracklist is comprised of mostly Foo favorites and one Nirvana b-side - "Marigold." Look for it November 7th.

Bright Light Fever Prep Record

Stolen Transmission Records will release the debut from California's Bright Light Fever. The disc is titled The Evening Owl, and was produced by Joby Ford of The Bronx. Fans of Bleach-era Nirvana and early White Stripes, pay attention. You can hear the "Crowded Streetin May" in the downloads section.

Antelope Is Doing an LP!

There's not much information on this thus far, but the latest Dischord Records newsletter is saying that Antelope should have a new album out sometime early next year. That means, yes, the band's first full-length, after what, five years as a band? It's been too long. Anyway, it's not a new song, but check out "Goggles" just because you've probably never heard the band. More info when it's available.

The Klaxons Debut in US

The Klaxons' brand of psychedelic dancefloor pop is set to hit stateside on October 10 in the form of the Xan Valleys EP. Already making a name for themselves in the UK off the single "Gravity's Rainbow", the band is only now garnering some attention this side of the Atlantic. Faux-Hoax Record This Winter...Maybe?

Faux-Hoax (pronounced "folks") aren't generating a lot of buzz just yet, but that's because the band hasn't made an attempt. The Portland-based experimental trio includes Dave Allen from Gang of Four and Danny Seim of Menomena fame. Right now you can really only hear the band on Myspace, but they're trying to get a record out this winter. Go befriend them, because we know you're on there too.

Badly Drawn Boy Born In The U.K.

Damon Gough, better known as Badly Drawn Boy, will return on October 17th with his fifth studio album, Born In The U.K. The album will feature the singles "Nothing's Gonna Change Your Mind" and the title track, both of which you can preview in the Downloads. Gough will hit a few major cities in October to usher in the release, with the promise of visiting the rest of us in 2007.

Bad News for Futureheads Fans

The Futureheads had a US tour planned for the coming weeks, but have had to cancel it. A statement from Ross on Myspace says "we have had to cancel our forthcoming US Tour, due to the development of Tendonitis in Barry's left wrist. He has been advised to rest and, as far as we can see, there is no way of us being able to make those shows work, given the state of his wrist." Sorry, guys.

Sam's Town on The Leak, TV

Head over to MTV's The Leak in the next six days for a full-album preview of Sam's Town from The Killers. The sophmore effort from the band will hit stores on October 3rd. In related TV news, the band will ring in the new season of Saturday Night Live this weekend. The band will also participate in a 3-night residency on Jimmy Kimmel Live starting October 3rd.
