Breeders go back in the studio

Seeing as how there's not going to be another Pixies album for some time (most likely ever, thankfully) it only seems appropriate that The Breeders would return to the studio to record a followup to 2002's Title TK. Steve Albini will be behind the boards when they enter the studio.

Gorillaz overload

No need to scour the file sharing services for Gorillaz videos anymore, as the band will be releasing Phase Two: Slowboat to Hades in late October (via Virgin). The DVD / CD-Rom release compiles all of the videos from the band, TV appearances and other extra special treats for fans.

Despite having just released a remix compilation, Of Montreal will be releasing a new full-length album January 23rd, 2007. Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer? consists of twelve tracks and we've got Polyvinyl to thank for putting it out.

The Rapture may be coming to your town

It's been some time since we reported anything on The Rapture but it looks like September 12th will mark the release of Pieces of the People We Love via Universal Records. The lead-off single "Get Myself Into It" is available for download right here and the band will be hitting the road at the end of the month in full tour support fashion.

Pinback rarities disc, now available

If you've ever been to a Pinback show (or just browsed their site) you may have noticed a number of tour only EP's and miscellaneous b-sides floating around. No longer do you have to forage to compile these all together into a homemade CD-R, as Nautical Antiques is now in stores and ready for your procurement! Granted, it's only 11 tracks but it's a nice amount of previously unavailable goods.

Hello Everything Tracklist, Digital Preview

Warp have made plans to digitally release three tracks from Squarepusher to lead up to the release of Hello Everything on October 17th. The first track, "Welcome To Europe," is now available on bleep.com, with track two coming September 18th and three on October 2nd. Also, we've managed to obtain the album tracklist.

Field Music Share Full Tones Of Town Details

Past rumors had the new Field Music album dropping this month. Recently, the band announced Tones Of Town will instead be released in January 2007. The first single "In Context," which you can preview at Myspace, will get the limited-edition, 7" single treatment on October 9th (UK).

Tim Armstrong Giving Away A Poet's Life

Tim Armstrong has decided to handle his solo effort a little differently than most. A Poet's Life (or Life Of A Poet, not quite sure) will be compiled from Armstrong's studio sessions this year, but will be given away free, track by track in the coming months.
