Minus the Bear, Remixed and Roading It Up

Nearly a year after the release of Menos El Oso, Seattle's Minus the Bear are still touring and are now prepping a remixed version of the record. Due out in February through Suicide Squeeze, the album will feature Dalek, Battles, P.O.S., and numerous others adding their own touches. On top of that, here's a lengthy touring itinerary.

Seems like everyone is getting the remix treatment these days. Look for a track by track remixed interpretation of the latest from Stars to hit stores sometime this fall. The album, Do You Trust Your Friends, will feature the remixed / cover stylings of Broken Social Scene, Metric, The Dears, The Elected and many more. We can only hope that the awesome Most Serene Republic remix of "Ageless Beauty" makes the cut.

Get Set for jet

Jet has revealed the first details of their second album, Shine On, which is set to land in stores on October 3rd. Coinciding with the release, the band will embark on a tour of the US, slated to run from September 18th through October 6th. Dates will be announced shortly. The band will return to the States in late-November for a full-blown tour of North America.

Single Frame European Tour

Single Frame are embarking on their first European tour this weekend beginning in Germany at the Bright trade show in Frankfurt. In addition to the tour dates, Single Frame's Adreon Henry will be having two art shows. One in Hossegor, France at the Volcom store and one at the Bright Tradeshow in Germany. The artwork to be shown is based on the Bird/Beats drumhead series that can be seen on adreonhenry.com.

ATO Records has signed The Whigs from Athens, GA. Why do you care? Because they are really good and are on tour now. ATO will re-release their self-recorded album, Give 'Em All A Big Fat Lip September 19th. The Whigs will continue to tour beforeheading into the studio in early 2007 to record their ATO Records debut.

New York's Damon McMahon released his debut full-length Mansions on Astralwerks yesterday. The album was culled from a collection of spare recordings after the break-up of Inouk last year. Basement Jaxx Return With Crazy Itch Radio

You can pre-order the sophomore album from Forget Cassettes, Salt, over on their website. The disc drops on August 8th via Theory 8 Records. The band has also added the track "Lonely Does It" to their myspace page and it's a doozy. This album is not one to sleep on.

Asobi Seksu to Spread Tangerine Dreams

NYC shoegazer-pop quartet Asobi Seksu will kick off a tour in September in support of the recently released Citrus. But if you're in their neck of the woods, the band will be performing this Sunday at the McCarren Park Pool along with Of Montreal and Enon. A video for the track "Thursday" is in the works.
