A September 26th release date for the upcoming Sparklehorse album, Dreamt for Light Years in the Belly of a Mountain, has been announced from Astralwerks. That's all we got, for now.

Bright Eyes will be releasing a rarities compilation through Saddle Creek on Oct. 24 entitled Noise Floor. The disc compiles sixteen tracks from various releases and the vinyl version will include five bonus songs.

These Arms Are Snakes have completed their second full-length Easter, a "caustic blend of post-hard/math core." Jade Tree will release the record on October 10th. You can preview an MP3 of the track "Horse Girl" in the Downloads. Just in case you were wondering about vinyl, Second Nature will be pressing that in September.

Merge will release Meadow, the eigth full-length from Richard Buckner, on September 12th. The now Brooklyn native recorded most of the album at home and nearby with producer J.D. Foster. Doug Gillard and Kevin March of Guided By Voices contributed their melodic prowess to the recording. Buckner is set to head out on tour to promote the release in September (see below).

As you may remember, the debut album from White Whale, WWI, will hit shelves on July 25th through Merge. The band has now announced an extended tour in support of the album's release.

Eric Bachmann (Archers of Loaf, Crooked Fingers) is set to release a proper, debut solo album by the name of To The Races. Omaha's Saddle Creek will release the record on August 22nd. Looks like trip-hop godfathers Massive Attack have set their sights on a US tour in September, as if Collected wasn't enough to remind us of their legacy.

Edinburgh's Aberfeldy have completed 12 new indie-pop gems and released it as their new album, Do Whatever Turns You On. No US release date has been reported, but their last album, Young Forever, made it here eventually. Hit the Downloads to stream "Hypnotised" from the album.

Erase Errata are set to drop twelve new tracks of polished chaos by the name of Nightlife. On July 25th, the third album from the San Francisco outfit will hit stores. Snag an MP3 of "Tax Dollar" from the album in the Downloads.

Aside from the rumored jump to the majors and break-up alerts, Interpol are back in the studio working on album number three (and reportedly have been for around six months). Tentative or not, song titles such as "The Heinrich Maneuver" and "Pawn Shop" are being thrown around.

As you may recall, The Blood Brothers hit the studio back in April with Guy Picciotto (Fugazi) and producer John Goodmanson to work on their fifth full-length. We've learned the album will be titled Young Machetes and will hit stores on October 10th on V2.

Tom Petty will release Highway Companion, his first solo album since 1994, on July 25th through American. The album was produced by longtime friend and fellow Wilbury Jeff Lynne. Petty backed by The Heartbreakers will appear on The Tonight Show this Thursday, July 20th to perform "Saving Grace." However, you can currently stream said video in the Downloads.

Four new tracks from the forthcoming Citizen Cope album Every Waking Moment are now on MySpace for your listening pleasure. A supporting tour should be announced sometime soon.

In the continuing story of overseas touring and extended players, The Life and Times have finally put their split-EP with Spain's Neuva Vulcano for sale in their online store. In addition, the forthcoming Japanese EP has been titled The Magician, but still due in September. Rest assured, we'll keep you covered on any future updates.

Not burning any bridges, Against Me! will release Americans Abroad!!! Against Me!!! Live in London!!! on August 22nd through Fat Wreck Chords. The album compiles 17 songs (including a new tune) from a sold-out show in London, England. After their current stint on Warped Tour, chances are they'll get crackin' on that major-label debut.
