RHCP double release

What is it about the double-CD release that sort of signifies that a band no longer has the ability to decide what it is that they are making that is good and what is bad? Hopefully the May 9th release from Red Hot Chili Peppers won't suffer the same fate. Stadium Arcadium is tenatively set for a May 9th release with "Dani California" set to be the first single.

Lovely Feathers debut

If you happened to catch The Lovely Feathers on tour with Metric and The Most Serene Republic this past fall you may have wondered where their full length album was? Well, it's finally finished being recorded, mixed, mastered, artworked, etc. The band will release the disc into the world via Equator on April 4th. More details as they arise.

Criteria Love The Road

Criteria are set to hit the road for their first tour of the year. Last year saw the release of When We Break and the re-issue of their debut, En Garde. In support of those releases, they've announced a January tour followed by a full US tour in March and April.

The Walkmen Complete New Album

The Walkmen have now finished work on their third album (currently void of a title), which should see release in April. New material will be debuted at several upcoming shows this month. In other news, the band have nearly completed a collaborative novel, titled John's Journey, which should also be published sometime this year.

Armor for Sleep on the road with pals

Armor for Sleep will be continuing to support last year's What To Do When You Are Dead with a lengthy US tour. Support acts will include Chiodos, Boys Night Out, and Action Reaction. In other news, the Sleep guys have posted a new track, "The Way Out Is Broken," over at Purevolume, are writing a "dump truck's load worth of new songs," and will be featured on MTV (The 10 Spot Drop) and MTV2 (Discover and Download) later this month. The Drips get down to work

The Drips features two members of The Bronx (Matt and Joby), and will be releasing a self-titled LP sometime near winter's end on the White Drugs label. Besides having already released the Mexico 7", the band has also posted a couple tracks on their Myspace page.

Saves the Day; new album, tour

There hasn't been much hype about Saves the Day since 2003's In Reverie, but the New Jersey boys are all set to release Sound the Alarm, though they have yet to procure a tentative release date or even a record label. Those setbacks won't hamper their touring schedule, though, as they prepare to hit the road with Moneen and Circa Survive starting in early March.

Thursday creates supergroup for super song

While it is unknown if the effort will make the final cut for the album, it appears that Thursday has collaborated with Cursive, Converge, The Blood Brothers and The Blackout Pact for a single song. The track, "A City By the Light Divided", was co-written by all of the bands involved.
