Rootkit Reading

Reported by yewknee

Typically I would not post "industry" news here, as we try and keep it about the bands, but I think it is of dire importance that anyone who buys CD's take a look at this article and get caught up to speed on the whole Sony DRM "rootkit" issue that is going on. It's important to know where music technology is going and how it's going to be abused. Please feel free to discuss in the message board.

Never let it be said that Kaada is a slacker. His latest release under the moniker Cloroform, Cracked Wide Open, will be released in Germany soon and followed by a short tour. This is good news indeed for those of us looking for further collaborations between members of Queens of the Stone Age, Ween, Eagles of Death Metal and a whole bunch more. Check the In the Fade discography for complete details about each disc (or, rather, pair of discs).

Merge Records auctions

Reported by yewknee

It's officially Christmas season, so what better way to show someone that you care enough to buy them stuff than by winning an eBay auction of exclusive Merge Records goodies. The autographed Spoon poster is pretty great and all proceeds go to charity.
