Leaky Juicebox

Reported by yewknee

The first single from the forthcoming album, First Impressions of Earth, from The Strokes is "Juicebox." What we know about "Juicebox" is that it's a bit more aggresive than anything the band has done before. We also know that the video has "leaked" out on to the Internet. Download it here or here or here.

Mogwai unleash the beast

Reported by yewknee

Matador will release the latest opus from Mogwai this coming March. The disc is entitled Mr. Beast and I'd bet good money it will find a nice balance between rather soft and quiet and full-on rock onslaught.

Clearlake readies Amber

Reported by yewknee

Mix a bit of slowcore and a bit of quality brit-rock and you get Clearlake, who are readying their third release Amber for a January 24th release. The first single, "Good Clean Fun", will be acompanied by a remix provided by Caribou but don't expect to see that Stateside because we're not a "singles market." Either way, the mp3 should start circulating around December 5th.

Codeseven Call It Quits

Reported by heyrevolver

The news has been spreading for a few days and unfortunately seems to be true. Winston-Salem, North Carolina's own Codeseven has announced they will be taking an "indefinite hiatus," after 10 years together (but, let's just call it was it is). The full statement from the band can be found over at Equal Vision. It's unfortunate that the band releases their best album to-date, Dancing Echoes/Dead Sounds, and then calls it quits. Maybe it's the best way to go out.
