The Frames US Dates

The Frames will bring their legendary live show back to the States later next month in further support of their latest album Burn The Maps. Kicking things off on September 24, the band will perform at the Austin City Limits Music Festival followed by a headlining tour of the US.

Die Hunns Join Volcom

Volcom Entertainment has announced that they will be releasing the fifth full-length album from punk rock pirates Die Hunns. Live Fast, Die Hunns is slated for a Summer 2006 release and the band is currently headlining the Old Skars & Upstarts 505 Tour that is circling the US this Fall.

Wives Revisit the US

Wives have returned home from their 6 week US tour just to up and leave again. The band begins a west coast tour this week where they'll be joined by Hospitals and Nisennen Mondai from Tokyo, Japan. Then they're off to the UK and Europe later this month for 8 weeks. Check the West coast dates below.

All About Mando Diao

Mando Diao is set to return to the U.S. after their successful North American spring tour supporting their current album, Hurricane Bar. Kicking off these dates, Mando Diao will play the two day Across the Narrows festival at Keyspan Park in Coney Island before performing live on Los Angeles radio station, KDLD (AKA Indie 103.1) on Monday, October 3rd. The dates announced thus far are below.

Harvey Danger readies 3rd LP

Harvey Danger will be releasing Little By Little... on September 13th on their own independent label Phonographic Records (and online, for free!, two weeks later). The disc was recorded by Steve Fisk and apparently carries a bit mellower vibe than the Harvey Danger you may remember. Sure, they were a one-hit wonder but so were Nada Surf and they released one of the best albums you never bothered to listen to! So, keep your mind open and consider picking up Little By Little or possibly the soon-to-be-released Kill Rock Stars EP from the band entitled Cream & Bastards.

Sun Kil Moon release Tiny Cities (not made of Ashes)

The first release from indie label Caldo Verde will be a disc entitled Tiny Cities by Sun Kil Moon (aka brainchild of Mark Kozelek). The disc consists of 11 covers of Modest Mouse songs released throughout the years. Look for it on November 1st.

Seu Jorge Cru

Seu Jorge (who you may recognize as "Pelé dos Santos" from The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou or "Knockout Ned" from City Of God) is set to release Cru in the States today! The album contains 10 tracks of Jorge' own confrontational Portuguese folk, born out of the favela of Rio de Janeiro. Head over to Rock Paper Scissors to preview two tracks and watch the music video for "Tive Razão," which sports cameos from Bill Murray and Willem Dafoe. If Cru strikes your fancy, be sure to catch Jorge while he is on our continent for a North American tour throughout September.

The forthcoming Queens of the Stone Age DVD we told you about has a few more details trickling about. It seems that it will be a CD / DVD release and should contain the demo for the track "The Fun Machine Took a Shit and Died" that was lost in the process of making Lullabies to Paralyze. Release date should be sometime in the Christmas season.
