Recently I've been hankering for some new Apollo Up! and by the power of social networking that is MySpace, my wishes have come true. So head over to their page, check out two new demo songs from their forthcoming release Chariots of Fire and enjoy.
Steve Aoki of Dim Mak recently quashed rumors that the label had been bought out by Benji and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte. You can read his post over at the Dim Mak website.

Following his date at the CMJ Marathon on September 14th, Devendra Banhart will hit the road with Hairy Fairy in tow throughout October. And, just in case you were awaiting news on the Banhart and Xiu Xiu 7" split, it's titled The Body Breaks (b/w Support Our Troops Oh!) and is now out on Kill Rock Stars (details).
Spoon will perform live on The Late Show with David Letterman tonight! Check your local listings for times, but you can probably tune in around 12:20am EST and you'll be set to just catch Britt Daniel and crew. Any bets on what they'll perform (on the message board, of course)? After Letterman, Spoon are set to head out on an extensive international tour just to come back through the States in October/November.
The National have remixed the track "Secret Meeting" from the recent album Alligator, for release exclusively as a download single. Also included is a live version of "The Geese Of Beverly Road" taken from the Black Session recorded by Radio Inter in France. And one last treat - we also have a video for "Daughters Of The Soho Riots" that can be viewed here.
Live in Texas? Like ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead? Maybe you should check out this handful of Texas dates the band will be playing.

After the unfortunate passing of Soul Asylum bassist Karl Mueller it seemed that the band may call it quits but not Soul Asylum! No way! They've recruited former Replacements member Tommy Stinson. A new album should be out possibly in 2005.
Everyone's favorite hard-rock prog outfit, Tool, is reportedly back in the studio recording the followup to Lateralus. According to Adam Jones Myspace page (yea, I never thought I'd say that either) it appears that the likes of Josh Homme, Arron Harris (Isis), and King Buzzo have dropped by the studio - though we doubt they'll actually appear on any recordings.
Dance-punk trio turned noise mongers Numbers is set to release a new album, We're Animals, on September 13th via Kill Rock Stars. You can down an MP3 of "Black Crow Heart Of Gold" over at the band's website.
It's been out for about two weeks now, but Oxes released the Oxes EP earlier this month. The EP, described as a "feast of low end booty shakin, caveman-esque pounds and surges," is the first material from the group since 2002. You can download songs and buy your own copy of the EP over at Monitor Records.
Have you seen the video "You've Escaped" by Aloha? I'm guessing everyone who watches it will remember the girl in matching bra and panties, but maybe forget the song - which is a damn shame since it's actually a rather good song.
After touring with the likes of Interpol and The Secret Machines, Hail Social have finally released their debut album on Polyvinyl Records. Download the track "Hands Are Tied" right here.
You thought Guided By Voices wouldn't continue putting out material despite being broken up?! Hah! You poor fool! The bands last ever show, performed New Years Eve at the Metro in Chicago, will be released on DVD November 15th. How Plexifilm is going to fit 64 songs on one disc has yet to be seen so it may end up being a double, or possibly triple, disc (including bonus materials) but we'll keep you posted.
The follow-up to Team Boo is now finished being recorded, according to the Mates of State website. Now they've just got to par down the tracklisting, artwork, and a release date. The disc was produced by Bill Racine and supposedly takes the band to a new level of production. Sounds enticing... so do these tour dates.
The Bronx have redesigned their website and posted full details about their Live At The Annandale in Sydney, Australia DVD. The DVD was originally released in, you guessed it, Austraila. However, there is a limited North American release planned in the near future. Unfortunately, no additional details about the upcoming album were mentioned.
