Our Lady Peace Not So Paranoid

Reported by heyrevolver

Our Lady Peace is finally set to release Healthy in Paranoid Times, the follow-up to 2002's Gravity, on August 30th. Unfortunately, the band once again solicited the help of producer Bob Rock for Healthy. One can only hope they've receded slightly back into their Arnold Lanni sound, instead of forging on into modern-rock radio triteness. I suppose we'll see any day now, since "Where Are You," the album's first single, should be currently or will be added to all payola-dominated playlists across the US. There's nothing wrong with being popular, just slowly, painfully fading into mediocrity. Oh, here's the cover art.

After countless false starts, there are new rumors that the band will release the disc through 5KB Records sometime relatively soon.. but if you're wise, you won't hold your breath waiting for it.

Everloving Records releases Michael Andrews music

Reported by yewknee

Michael Andrews (the man responsible for the Donnie Darko score) has scored the music for the highly entertaining indie film Me and You and Everyone We Know. The music for the Miranda July film is quite a bit different than the Darko score but every bit as interesting. You can hear samples, read about the collaboration, and even purchase the disc over at CDBaby or Everloving Records.

Bloc Party remix, re-release

Reported by yewknee

Touring non-stop apparently isn't enough for Bloc Party, so they will be re-releasing Silent Alarm with every track remixed by a different artist, calling it Silent Alarm Remixed. And if you aren't into remixes, you should know that the first pressing of the remix disc will feature a bonus disc with non-remixed b-sides. So now you have to get it. Look for it on September 13th.

The Frames scour the US

Reported by yewknee

How else can I present tour dates in a witty way? It's not possible. The Frames are on tour playing lots of old songs and plenty from their most recent release Burn The Maps (a highly recommended album if you ask me). I hear their live show is even better than they are recorded, hard to believe...
