The Siren Music Festival 2005 is still slated for July 16th but now we've got the initial lineup of artists to play. Spoon, Mates of State, Brendan Benson, VHS or Beta, Dungen, Q and not U and The Dears are the first acts to be announced. Should be an amazing show.
Bob Geldof announced today a series of concerts around the world entitled Live 8 to be held on July 2nd. Anyone who remembers anything about the 80's probably remembers Geldof's phenomenal concert Live Aid to raise awareness of poverty and debt in the world. This series is no different except it takes place in 5 cities around the world featuring the talents of U2, The Killers, The Cure, Kaiser Chiefs, and a ridiculous amount of others.
The Joy Circuit have announced on their website that they have broken up. The upside to this new is that National Skyline will be reforming and recording the followup to This=Everything.
According to this article the new Deftones album will be delayed a bit but the band is compiling a rarities and b-sides disc in the meantime to be released later this summer. Expect to find the band covering Jawbow, The Smiths, and even Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The Used and Glassjaw have confirmed plans for a U.S. tour for mid-August. Dates, venues and support will be announced shortly. The Used will also head out on the International Taste of Chaos tour hitting Mexico, Australia, Japan, the UK, and Germany starting October 16th and running through November 20th. The line-up will also include Story Of The Year, Killswitch Engage, Rise Against and Funeral For A Friend.
